Low-voltage halogen lamps are more energy efficient than normal incandescent lamps. They last up to four times as long, retaining their brilliant light, power and colour throughout their life. Low-voltage halogen lamps are small and robust; they come in various sizes and wattages and can be capsule or available as reflector lamps, i. e. with metal or coolbeam reflectors. ERCO wallwashers are characterised by the uniform distribution of brightness on the wall.

To provide the highest level of uniformity, Lightcast Double-focus wallwashers are fitted with special, internal wallwasher segments. With this special reflector technology the lamp is completely hidden from the observer. No light is emitted directly from the lamp onto the surface being illuminated. All the Lightcast Double-focus wallwashers have cast aluminium housings which are designed to provide optimum thermal properties according to their respective technical requirements. Other typical Lightcast features are the cast aluminium mounting ring and the four-point mounting which allows luminaires to be installed without tools.
