Low-voltage halogen lamps are more energy efficient than conventional incandescent lamps. They retain their brilliant light, power and colour throughout their life. There is no formal distinction between double washlight and downlights. The internal washlight reflector directs the light uniformly onto the walls, while the downlight effect remains unchanged. The Lightcast double washlights have cast aluminium housings which are designed to provide optimum thermal properties according to their particular technical requirements. Other typical Lightcast features include the ceiling ring - in cast aluminium - and the four-point mounting for tool-free installation. The Darklight technology combines the maximum visual comfort with the maximum light output ratio.

The DALI-compatible luminaires have digital control gear through which each luminaire can be individually addressed - for instance using the ERCO Light System DALI with its integral ERCO Light Studio software.
