Nadir IP67
In interiors and in transition zones between indoors and outdoors, Nadir IP67 recessed floor luminaires are often chosen to produce grazing light, to create dramatic lighting accents, or as directional luminaires. Nadir luminaires attract attention not only as unusual light sources situated at ground level, but also because of their upward beam direction, which makes them particularly noticeable. Due to their shallow recess depth, Nadir luminaires can easily be integrated into standard floor superstructures without problematic sound bridges. The recessed floor housing allows compensation of dimensional tolerances and floor alignment through the height adjustable frame. Tesis IP68 in-ground luminaires are available in the ERCO Outdoor Lighting Program for special demands in the outdoor environment.

Reflector technology
Nadir grazing light wallwashers produce amazing lighting effects to highlight the texture of surfaces (left). To achieve the effect of light trailing across the wall, the luminaire needs to be positioned close to the wall. When arranged in a row, the wide beam light distribution along the wall produces a homogeneous grazing light on the wall.
The Nadir varychrome recessed floor luminaire produces points of light used to identify traffic areas, mark out entrances or, mounted in a row, identify architectural lines or pathways (below).
Nadir directional luminaires are used for accent lighting on objects or architectural details (right). Due to their angle of tilt of up to 30°, they can be flexibly aligned. The Softec lens in front of the lamp greatly enhances the light quality without compromising the beam angle.
Mounting
The height-adjustable frame of the in-ground housing allows a compensation of dimensional tolerances between plain ceiling and finished floor or in case of slanting floors. The shallow recess depth from 100mm makes the Nadir suitable for many applications in architecture. Even mounting in floating floor screed with sound insulation requirements is possible without a problem. Nadir recessed floor luminaires can be mounted using a cover frame to cover the floor aperture or with flush floor, trim detail.
A junction box rated to protection mode IP67 is available for the efficient through-wiring of a row of luminaires.
