ERCO Gimbal Recessed spotlights Introduction

The cardanic suspension of the Gimbal recessed spotlight makes it possible to angle the beam in any direction up to 40° from the vertical. This invention devised by Geronimo Cardano in the 16th century was originally designed for keeping a ship's compass horizontal independent of its motion. Now, this method with the two crossed hinged axes finds use in countless other applications such as cardanic joints or cardanic shafts. This principle allows flexible accent lighting in exhibitions or sales areas. Cooling fins on the lampholder carrier contribute to optimum heat management.
