CLC downlights Recessed luminaires
It is not just the name that indicates CLC downlights are related to the CL product ranges. Here too, compact fluorescent lamps are used in circular luminaires. Even the type of reflector is derived from the cross baffle of the CL downlight. In contrast to the CL product range, however, the CLC downlights feature a coloured cross-reflector with a central cone where an additional low-voltage reflector lamp can be mounted. This arrangement results in a highly versatile luminaire which is especially useful in multi-functional rooms. For instance, a conference room can be illuminated uniformly and economically during the day using the fluorescent lamps. In the evening, the low-voltage lamps can be switched on to provide an increased level of lighting and a stronger modelling effect. Later when, for example, meals are served in the same room, it can be illuminated using only the low-voltage lamps to provide distinctive accent lighting.
The different colours of the reflector have virtually no effect on the colour of the light emitted. The colours really become effective when the luminaires are arranged in the ceiling. A specific differentiation of room areas can be achieved here by selecting differently coloured luminaires. So, for instance, hotel lobbies, pedestrian zones and cafés can be set in the required mood using the luminaire colours champagne and silver, e.g. in a department store, champagne-coloured luminaires could be used for ladies wear and silver for menswear. The DALI-compatible luminaires have digital control gear through which each luminaire can be individually addressed - for instance using the ERCO Light System DALI with its integral ERCO Light Studio software.
