At first glance, the design of the Parscan family is derived from the archetypal spotlight , known in the industry as "white can": a plain, white cylinder connected to the track adapter with a hinge. Lighting designers choose this type of spotlight particularly for places where fully flexible, directional lighting is required, but where it should appear as unobtrusive as possible, such as in museums, galleries or sacred rooms.
At second glance, Parscan provides a highly advanced detailed solution to the complex tasks of accent lighting: by turning a single clamping screw all of the spotlight´s movement axes are locked. When the spotlight is directed vertically downwards as a downlight, the support bracket fits exactly into the cylindrical shape.

All accessories such as lenses, filters or anti-dazzle devices are fitted into the front part of the cylindrical housing; the carrier is lockable and is easily removed for lamp replacement. The light-proof ventilation slot located between the two parts of the housing marks the thermal separation plane, which allows the mounting of electronic control gear units in the rear housing. The system design of the Parscan product range consists of variants with and without lens wallwasher technology as well as those with and without cross-baffles using lamps such as low-voltage halogen lamps, metal halide lamps with ceramic discharge tubes and PAR lamps, it offers an appropriately wide range of products. The DALI-compatible luminaires have digital control gear through which each luminaire can be individually addressed - for instance using the ERCO Light System DALI with its integral ERCO Light Studio software.
