Functional design, whereby a luminaire's form is indicative of how it works, is the key to creating products which have a long life. A convincing example of this is the TM product range which has been in the ERCO program for more than 30 years.
The cylindrical spotlight housing was originally designed for the PAR38 lamp. This made it possible to use it for tungsten halogen, general service and even low-voltage halogen lamps, since the volume means that it can contain the required transformer and the necessary optical system.
Today, ever smaller light sources provide an opportunity to use luminaire housings which were inconceivable in 1975. The TM range has now been complemented by smaller and larger housings for low-voltage halogen lamps and metal halide lamps.
Accessories are fitted to all housings in the same way. For instance, anti-dazzle attachments on mounting frames are inserted onto the lateral guides, while others are fixed directly to the front of the spotlights.
