The luminaires use a DALI control line to communicate with the ERCO Light Server, the latter is a DALI controller that saves scenes and makes the control functions available. As an allusion to the Client-Server structures in modern IT settings, the luminaires in this system are referred to as "Light Clients". Everyday operation is performed via the touch screen on the ERCO Light Changer control panel; whereas, for actually setting up the light scenes and for other more complex operating steps, designers or users can utilise the user-friendly ERCO Light Studio software on a PC connected to the Light Server for this purpose via a USB connection.
