The Light Book is used for the organisation and spatial structuring of Light System DALI installations. Its main function is to create zones and assign Light Clients or Light Changers to zones. It also defines generic Light Clients for luminaires from other manufacturers or custom-built ERCO luminaires and saves the relevant information in the DALI control gear of the Light Clients.
Zone list
The zone list serves to facilitate the spatial organisation of the DALI installation. It can combine a space, functional areas or several rooms together as zones. Light Clients or Light Changers can then be easily assigned to these zones.
Scene list
The scene list contains all the scenes that were created for zones. In contrast to the scene list in the Light Master, the scene list here in the Light Book also contains a check box. Ticking this instructs the name of the scene to be displayed on the control panel. If the scene is not to be displayed on the control panel however, then the check box must be deactivated. The tick is removed by clicking on it.
Changer list
A maximum of 31 Light Changers are assigned to the selected zone here with the help of a check box. The assignment is also triggered by clicking onto the check box.
The stage
As a visual memory aid, symbols for the Light Clients in a DALI system can be placed here at will. It may be displayed as a plan view or a sectional drawing, depending on what best suits the project situation.
Client list
The Light Clients in a Light System DALI installation are automatically recorded here and clearly displayed. Symbols indicate which attributes of a particular Light Client, e.g. "Dimmable monochrome" or "Varychrome". The desired Client is assigned to the selected zone by clicking onto the check box. Multiple assignments to several zones are also possible. The luminaire ID is stored in the control gear of each Light Client. It is displayed in the Light Studio software in its own dedicated column in the Client list.
Client Editor
The Client editor is primarily required when luminaires from other manufacturers, i.e. with uncoded control gear, are to be incorporated into the Light Studio. The Client editor is usually not needed when ERCO Clients are used.
