Visor Façade luminaires

The common design feature of the Visor façade luminaires is a semi-circular cover glass. As a light source, the Visor façade luminaires are discreet and provide high visual comfort. They ensure glare-free light for passers-by or road users, as they emit almost no light above the horizontal. Only an unobtrusive refraction of light from the sculpture lens indicates that the light source is switched on. Depending on the photometric option, Visor façade luminaires produce wide beams of light which are ideal for lighting pathways, or beams that penetrate deep into an area, which are effective in illuminating open spaces such as public squares or terraces.

Dark Sky technology ensures that light is only directed where it is intended - in the interest of both people and the environment. Luminaires suitable for Dark Sky applications feature precise light control and a defined cut-off for optimum visual comfort. Emitting no light above the horizontal plane is a definitive criterion for outdoor luminaires. Low nighttime light aperture brightness avoids excessive outdoor luminance contrasts. Dark Sky requires an effective design concept with a complementary luminaire technology. Careful selection, installation and aiming of the luminaires provide the basis for an effective “Dark Sky” design.

In contrast to the pathway luminaires with their wide light distribution, the open area luminaires direct light up to approximately 8m away. The lamps themselves are shielded by a vertically suspended anti-glare element.

In pathway luminaires, the lamp is hidden from the direct view of observers from all positions resulting in good visual comfort. The lens spreads the light in its width.

Floor washlights for open area lighting
In contrast to the pathway luminaire with its wide light distribution, the open area luminaire projects light far forward up to approx. 8m away. The lamp is shielded by a vertically-mounted anti-dazzle element.
