Colour LEDs produce monochrome, highly saturated light very efficiently. As a result, LEDs in red, green and blue are excellently suited for use in varychrome luminaires, which have a particularly wide colour space. ERCO varychrome LED luminaires are special coloured light versions of the other lighting tools within their respective product groups. As such, they have been optimised so that they produce sufficient luminous flux levels even with saturated light colours. In some varychrome LED luminaires ERCO is now launching a new technology that satisfies the high demands placed on the lighting quality, even where digitally controlled tools for coloured light are concerned. This technology is colour compensation.

The human eye registers even the slightest deviations in hue (left). The advantage of colour compensation therefore really comes into its own in critical applications such as coloured wallwashing (right).
