Like other lamps, high-power LEDs generate heat. To prevent the luminous flux and life of the lamp from decreasing drastically, the maximum junction temperature must not be exceeded even during continuous operation. ERCO places particular importance on heat management in its luminaires to ensure that the LED modules remain below the critical temperature range and operate at full capacity throughout their lives. Mounting the LED module directly on metal-core PCBs effectively dissipates the heat to the luminaire housing. The form, design and material of the housing are also conducive to proper heat management. Extensive simulations and tests in the development phase ensure the success of these measures for the serial product.
