The new lighting for the Louvre served as ERCO's pilot project for the use of the brand new 20W metal halide lamp from Philips together with corresponding electronic control gear. The lamp's geometry follows that of the previously used 100W QT12 low-voltage halogen lamp. This means the same, tried and tested reflector construction can be used for the new spotlight mounting trays.
