At the same time, the indirectly reflected light also provides diffuse general lighting at dusk. The designers chose energy efficient 35W metal halide lamps as the light source. This choice also meant that the glass surfaces on the luminaires did not reach any critical temperatures - important for use in locations where bathers also go barefoot.
