Rebstockbad Indoor Pool Complex
The Rebstockbad Indoor Pool Complex in Frankfurt was designed and built between 1979 and 1983 as an early representative of the "leisure pool" type of building. The Frankfurt architect Dieter Glaser incorporated Japanese-style design features in creating an organically formed, generous central hall whose feeling of space still remains impressive today. After about 20 years of operation, the baths are now undergoing comprehensive renovation and expansion. Using high-quality materials and a reduced palette of colours, the commissioned architects from Büro 4a in Stuttgart have succeeded in bringing out the existing qualities of the architecture with great clarity.
