In the "stilwerk" in Stuttgart the Dreipunkt International brand of furniture is promoting itself with an ambitious store. Coloured light - controllable intelligently and diversely - is used as the centre of attraction.

Lighting solutions

The highly traditional "Dreipunkt International" furniture brand from Baden-Württemberg is now stepping into the limelight of the fashion-conscious public with its first Dreipunkt brand-name store. The recently opened "stilwerk" in Stuttgart’s Königsbau Passages (architects: Hascher Jehle) acts as the stage for this move. The shop floor is done in walnut parquet and opens onto stilwerk’s oval atrium. Opaque white panel-track blinds close the window facade in the background, while the display area with the high quality furniture and accessories takes centre stage. Dynamic, coloured light on the walls attracts further attention and aids brand recognition.

The lighting design transforms the store’s two side walls into two magical eye-catching and room-shaping features. ERCO TFL Varychrome wallwashers flush-mounted in the ceiling illuminate these side walls evenly and in colour. All the lighting components are incorporated in the ERCO Light System DALI. Thanks to the integrated ERCO Light Studio software, the functions of this lighting installation - from switching scenarios to controlling the Varychrome luminaires - can all be conveniently configured using an in-store laptop.

The luminous flux of a 20W metal halide lamp is comparable with that of a 100W halogen lamp, yet in addition to reduced power consumption, they also have almost three times the service life while boasting very good colour rendition.

The room’s subdued level of ambient brightness is achieved by Stephan Haubner’s lighting design using decorative floor lamps. The exhibits - high quality upholstered furniture and carpets - receive accented lighting from ERCO Optec spotlights for 20W metal halide lamps. These are fitted with flood or spot reflectors, while black honeycomb anti-dazzle screens ensure optimum glare protection.
