Lighting solutions
The departure lounge is the core of the new Terminal A, which expands Argentina's most important airport by 60,000 m2 of floor area. The most spectacular aspect of the lighting design is the indirect lighting of the departure lounge above its ceiling - a steel construction spanning almost 25m.
The uniform illumination of such a wide-spanned ceiling from the sides is only possible with extremely powerful lighting technology. Tightly rowed Parscoop washlights fitted with 400W metal halide lamps were the tool of choice for the lighting designers from Fisher Marantz Stone for this demanding lighting task.
Parscoop washlights together with downlights for metal halide lamps also illuminate the roofed driveway to the new terminal. Inside the building, the single-floor lounges and the check-in areas are also equipped with Lightcast downlights for compact fluorescent lamps.
