Effective spotlights and floodlights with LED or HIT lamps
Lüdenscheid, April 2012 - The highly economical lighting tools of the new Opton range of spotlights offer superior light quality to the retail sector. Opton luminaires feature lens systems with ERCO's Spherolit technology, which is easily replaced without tools. In addition, a modular design for a wide range of different light distributions and wattages both for versions with LEDs and with metal halide lamps rounds off the system. In relation to the retail environment, and suitable for variable lighting requirements, the system excels with flexibility. Due to their low height they are ideal for rooms with low ceilings and stylistically, depending on the lamp used, Opton has a flat or conical luminaire head made of cast aluminium.
Opton spotlights with LED
The LED luminaires of the Opton range of spotlights feature ERCO's LED-based optoelectronics developed and produced in-house. In combination with the Spherolit lens technology, this allows for highly economical, but also flexible lighting solutions without compromising on the light quality. Based on a modular structure, with interchangeable light distributions and a luminous flux of up to 2160 lumens, Opton opens up new areas of application for the LED that have previously been reserved to metal halide lamps. The horizontal position of the compact control gear, in combination with the compact luminaire head, reduces its height thereby making it particularly suitable for inconspicuous integration in architecture even in rooms with low ceilings.
Opton LED spotlights can be dimmed in various ways for efficient visual comfort. The versions featuring ERCO's electronic control gear have an integrated potentiometer to adjust the luminous flux individually and precisely. Opton spotlights with potentiometer can also be controlled using external trailing-edge dimmers. This makes them ideal for an energy-efficient upgrade to existing lighting installations that are often equipped with this widely-used dimmer technology. Alternatively, Opton LED spotlights are also available as DALI-compatible Light Clients. Opton LED luminaires can therefore also be used with the new RGBW varychrome technology. Using collimators and Spherolit lenses, the beams are produced without colour shadows to provide DALI-controlled white hues with excellent colour rendering and variable colour temperature, but also any light colour, from pastel hues all the way to the highly saturated range. The new technology is based on the concept of adding warm white LEDs (3000K) to the primary colours red, green and blue (RGB).
Opton spotlights for HIT
The Opton range also includes spotlights, floodlights and wallwashers for metal halide lamps. Their Spherolit reflectors equally ensure optimal light quality, high efficiency and flexible applications. The conical luminaire head and the square control gear housing are separate to create optimal thermal management for efficient operation and long lamp life. This results in a particularly low height, which is useful for rooms with low ceilings or traditional shop windows. There are two sizes available for different wattages.
In addition to HIT-CE 20W, 35W and 70W lamps, Opton is also available for the new metal halide lamps HIT- CE 50W. This additional wattage allows for differentiated lighting concepts and in many applications is an energy-saving alternative to the 70W lamp.
