ERCO's innovation offensive enters the next round: New architectural lighting applications for LEDs

Lüdenscheid, December 2011 - In the context of its innovation drive, ERCO continues to focus consistently on LED technology for architectural lighting. Once again, the "Light Factory" is set to present more than 700 new products in 2012 which feature ERCO's trendsetting LED lighting technology in a scaled, varied and consistently advanced format. As a result, LED lighting tools are now finding their way into new, wider areas of application and are opening up enormous savings potential in terms of resources and operating costs. What makes these highly efficient LED lenses, including the Spherolit lens systems for spotlights and floodlights, so remarkable is the fact that ERCO develops and produces these systems in-house, just as its customised control gear, control systems and software. ERCO has come to consider this fusion of optical systems, electronics and information technology - optoelectronics, for short - a key competence. The company's new developments for 2012 include both complete product families, such as the new LED spotlight ranges Light Board and Opton, and revised lines, such as the second generation of Cantax LED spotlights, along with a wide variety of additions to indoor and outdoor ranges. The ERCO Program 2012 will be available from January.

Light Board spotlights: for exhibition and presentation
The new Light Board range comprises spotlights and recessed luminaires with efficient LED technology. Its compact design with integrated control gear and hidden wiring results in striking stylistic features. Thanks to its modular structure with interchangeable characteristics and a luminous flux of up to 4320lm, Light Board is able to meet even high performance requirements with great flexibility. The system design of the Light Board spotlights, floodlights and lens wallwashers is geared for exhibition and presentation lighting. ERCO's Spherolit technology with collimators and Spherolit lenses also features in Light Board recessed floodlights and recessed lens wallwashers. The low height allows them to be recessed into the ceiling. Both installation versions of Light Board are also available with the new RGBW varychrome technology: Using Spherolit lens systems, the beams are produced without colour shadows to provide DALI-controlled white hues with excellent colour rendering and variable colour temperature, but also any light colour, from pastel hues all the way to the highly saturated range.

Opton spotlights: low height, high efficiency
The new Opton spotlights, floodlights and lens wallwashers with LED feature ERCO's Spherolit lens technology, which is easily replaced without tools, alongside a modular design for a wide range of different light distribution patterns and wattages. This makes them particularly suitable for variable lighting requirements as are typical in the retail sector. Due to their low height they are ideal for rooms with low ceilings and for shop windows. The Opton range is also available with the innovative RGBW varychrome technology with Spherolit lens.

Efficiency with LED
Due to the high efficiency of the LED, ERCO has increased its variety of LED-operated luminaires in many indoor product ranges. Only the latest LED components are used in new and existing products. The LED-operated spotlights, floodlights and lens wallwashers of the successful Cantax range, for instance, now feature flat light heads in two sizes, specially designed for LEDs. This new design with the same housing size produces twice the amount of luminous flux and adds further wattages and light distributions with Spherolit lens technology and versions with the innovative RGBW varychrome technology to the range.
The double-focus downlights used in the Quintessence range for discreet general lighting in rooms with high ceilings are now also available with LEDs. The optical system of the recessed luminaires uses ERCO's exclusive Spherolit lens technology and is virtually free of spill light. The Darklight reflector is replaced by a matt black anti-glare cone. The Cylinder range now includes LED light for ambient lighting and wallwashing.

New or optimised LED versions are also available for the outdoor product ranges Powercast, Beamer, Cylinder façade luminaires, and the orientation luminaire IP68.
