EuroShop 2008: 'tune the light' - innovative lighting tools providing efficient visual comfort and lighting effects worthy of the stage
ERCO presents equipment focused on economic and effective lighting concepts ideal for the retail market at EuroShop 2008
Lüdenscheid, 23 February 2008 - From 23 - 27 February 2008, the international business and trading community will once again meet in Düsseldorf for the EuroShop 2008, the world's biggest industry trade fair. In Hall 11, ERCO will be among those presenting their latest innovations and developments, focusing this year on lighting in the retail market with its particularly exacting requirements in terms of lighting effects, lighting technology and lighting control. As a crucial element in product presentations, light ultimately attracts attention, reveals the products, serves as orientation, increases the sense of wellbeing of both customers and staff and permanently contributes to successful business. By including a variety of new products developed specifically for the retail sector, ERCO now covers an array of lighting applications of unparalleled breadth, increasing creative possibilities in shop design. This might be for accurately calculated lighting concepts for shopping centres and discount stores or for the emotional lighting effects required for an experience-oriented ambience in department stores. It might also be for flexible design solutions in hip and trendy shops or a consistent image for both the chain and flagship stores of major brands.
Tools to effectively display products
The Lüdenscheid-based Light Factory sets great store by efficient visual comfort and lighting tools that produce scenographic effects such as those well-known in theatre and event lighting, as well as designing them to be suitable for continuous use, i.e. in daily operation. The new developments of ERCO, in the area of lighting technology focus on the increase in lamp and control gear efficiency. Both reduce the connected and the thermal load, saving operating costs, extending lamp life, improving the light quality and providing visual comfort.
The enhanced Spherolit reflectors, for example, are able to achieve different light distribution patterns - from narrow spot to accentuating individual products to wide flood for washlighting specific room zones to display products. All these characteristics share one common factor - producing a light quality of the highest standard. The beams are exceptionally uniform, without striations and have a neat, slightly diffused edge. Thanks to the fact that the reflectors are easily changed by hand, the spotlights with Spherolit technology can be adapted quickly and flexibly to suit changing lighting concepts.
All ERCO spotlights in the Emanon, Cantax and Compar ranges exhibited for the first time at EuroShop are provided with Spherolit reflectors. A special product in the range is the Emanon projection spotlight with DALI-controlled Goborotator - the first of its kind in the world. Through the use of independently controllable rotating gobos, lenses or colour filters, the projection effects can be fascinating. Cantax appeals because of its minimalist design. Naoto Fukasawa devised the shape to consists of the basic geometric forms of cube and cylinder. As a recessed ceiling luminaire, Compar provides an unparalleled variety of seven different light distribution patterns, this makes it ideal to deal with complex retail lighting tasks. For equally brilliant and economical ambient lighting, ERCO now introduces Compact HIT - a range of downlights designed exclusively for metal halide lamps and with Spherolit reflectors.
