Light + Building 2008: ERCO increases functionality of Light System DALI by adding new components

"tune the light" - made easy

Lüdenscheid, 23 February 2008 - The Light System DALI from ERCO sets new standards in terms of ease of installation and operation and the creative control of lighting installations. With new hardware and software components, the functionality and user-friendliness of this system have now been further extended.

The Light Sequencer is an innovative module in the integrated Light Studio software provided to simplify the set-up of sequences of light scenes. It is used to define and name the sequences in a timed progression and to recall them through program control. With the help of the sequence list, the user simply selects each scene from the scene list of Light Studio that are to be included in, or linked in a sequence. The task list is used to set and show the actions and fading times for each scene individually. The familiar intuitive elements of the Light Studio user interface are used to access the other functions of the module.

Especially for the DALI-controlled Goborotator, a world premiere in the Emanon spotlight range, Light Studio includes software making it possible to create a whole range of effects with the new Goborotator luminaires. This includes all the functions of the Goborotator, such as speed and rotating direction of the gobos. They can now all be automatically controlled by the Light System DALI.

The redesigned digital inputs of the ERCO Light Server now mean that it is possible to connect a wide range of alternative digital input devices beyond simple push-buttons. So, for example, movement sensors or twilight switches can be used to recall different light scenes. In addition, the digital inputs make it possible for a radio receiver module to be integrated into the Light System DALI with minimal installation requirement. Specific functions of the lighting control system such as scene selection or master dimming can then be controlled via battery-free 4-channel remote controls or 4-channel wall transmitters. The radio receiver is particularly useful where the lighting scenario frequently needs to be changed manually within a short time, such as during presentations or other events.

Please note: Light System DALI is not available in Japan.
