LED varychrome RGBW spotlights, demonstration without colour shadows
ERCO's new LED spotlights with varychrome RGBW technology prevent colour shadows, as the individual colour components are homogeneously mixed directly in the LED optical system.

Light+Building 2012 - ERCO continues innovation drive with new LEDs for indoor lighting

Advanced technologies for efficient visual comfort

Lüdenscheid, April 2012 - The lighting technology for LEDs that ERCO develops and produces in-house has great potential to increase the efficiency of lighting installations and optimise the quality of the visual environment. As a result, ERCO has extended and redesigned a number of existing product ranges for indoor use by adding many LED-driven luminaires. Side by side with customised electronics, digital interfaces and control software, these lighting tools can be combined into intelligent light networks. This provides lighting designers and architects with practical, effective and economical ways towards a new design dimension.

New generation of Cantax
The LED-driven spotlights, floodlights and lens wallwashers in the successful Cantax range have advanced to the next generation. They now feature flat luminaire heads in two sizes specially designed for LEDs. This new design allows for a more compact housing while delivering the same luminous flux and adding further wattages and light distributions: the spot, flood, wide flood, oval flood and wallwash characteristics are now available with 13W or 27W LED modules, and the narrow spot characteristic with 9W or 20W. Featuring the Spherolit technology, Cantax produces a quality of light that meets the highest requirements from upmarket residential buildings to shops, restaurants and galleries. The Spherolit technology is easily replaced without tools, making it easy to change light distribution variations to suit differing lighting applications.

Cantax also features the innovative RGBW varychrome technology. This new technology is based on the concept of adding warm white LEDs (at 3000K) to the primary colours red, green and blue (RGB). The Light System DALI lighting control with the integrated Light Studio software for appropriate spotlights provides two control elements: the colour wheel ranging from pastel hues all the way to highly saturated colours, and a slider for variable shades of white of different colour temperatures.

Cylinder surface-mounted and pendant luminaires with LED
The Cylinder range has been fully upgraded to the LED platform. These surface-mounted downlights now feature cutting-edge LED technology while the perfect combination of LED, lens and control gear results in maximum efficiency. The range includes lighting tools for ambient lighting and wallwashing. Using appropriate accessories such as pendant tubes or cable suspensions, Cylinder can also be mounted as a pendant luminaire.

LED additions to Compar
The earlier generation of Compar ceiling-recessed luminaires for metal halide systems is now enhanced with new spotlights with LEDs. These also feature the highly efficient Spherolit lens technology available only from ERCO to provide the highest quality of light. With rotationally symmetrical light distributions from narrow spot to wide flood and the asymmetrical characteristics oval flood and wallwash, these luminaires are suitable for differentiated lighting in sales areas based throughout on the LED. The modular mounting ring makes it easy to combine Compar recessed spotlights with Quintessence luminaires.

About ERCO
ERCO GmbH, Lüdenscheid, is one of the leading companies in the luminaire industry. The family business founded in 1934 now operates with over 60 subsidiaries, branches and agencies all around the world. Working together with internationally renowned designers, lighting engineers and architects, ERCO develops hardware and software for all areas of architectural lighting: luminaires and lighting systems for indoor and outdoor areas, as well as lighting control and software for scenographic lighting applications. In keeping with the corporate philosophy of "Light not luminaires," lighting equipment is not offered simply as furnishing for rooms, but rather luminaries are offered as instruments of lighting design. Many demanding architectural projects are illuminated using ERCO equipment, including the Berlin Reichstag, the National Gallery in London and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.
