Make your lighting flexible: with ERCO track in museums, galleries and offices

Track for surface mounting, recessing or suspending. The ERCO track for mains voltage and the low voltage Minirail 48V track are the flexible infrastructure for spotlights, downlights and wallwashers. We show you what to look out for and how to plan a project with track.

Since the invention of the incandescent lamp, no product has revolutionised lighting design as much as the track. It is only track that releases light and luminaires from the constraints of fixed installation. It forms the basis for variable, flexible lighting design that adapts to the changing designs and uses of a room. ERCO offers two open and comprehensive track systems in the form of Minirail 48V track for low voltage and ERCO track for mains voltage. For indirect lighting and higher load-bearing requirements, Hi-trac is a further solution with a deeper profile.

You're aiming for lighting design that focuses on flexibility? You'd like to position luminaires independently of the fixed ceiling outlets? Our track allows you to mount spotlights, downlights and wallwashers in the track without tools and move them easily. Free up the alignment of your lighting from rigid mounting points and design freely. ERCO track can be mounted almost anywhere: on ceilings, vertically on walls and even in furniture – flush-mounted, surface-mounted or suspended. Don't be limited. Control your luminaires in the ERCO track wirelessly, e.g. with Casambi Bluetooth, or wired, for example with DALI.

How our track system is designed

Surface-mounted

Surface-mounted

Track can be easily mounted to ceilings and walls as a surface-mounted variant. The low installed height of only 16mm with Minirail 48V and 34mm with standard track ensures a calm and tidy ceiling appearance.

Recessed

Recessed

Track for 48V as well as for mains voltage can be elegantly recessed into the ceiling. A plaster trim profile is available as an accessory for flush installation. Flanged track, i.e. special track with side flanges, is ideal for installation in suspended ceiling panels.

Suspensions or pendant

Suspensions or pendant

Track can be suspended from the ceiling with use of accessories. The wire rope suspension is also ideal for suspending track from sloping ceilings. Mounting on a pendant tube allows the track to be loaded with up to 20kg of weight and the pendant tube prevents the track from tilting if loaded on one side.

Singlets

Singlets

If your lighting design includes one or more fixed mounting points, then we recommend using the appropriate singlet for low voltage and mains voltage as a recessed or surface-mounted variant. The ERCO singlet allows you to mount spotlights with a 3-circuit adapter or DALI adapter in a particularly elegant way.

ERCO track for 220-240V mains voltage is the infrastructure for spotlights, downlights and wallwashers that has been tried and tested for years.

Hi-trac track: for higher loads

Hi-trac is a 72mm high profile, optionally with indirect lighting, for suspended mounting. The system enables more weight in the track and wide pendant distances. The ERCO track is located within the Hi-trac profile.

One track for all control options

With ERCO track you can use modern wireless control methods such as Casambi Bluetooth and Zigbee, as well as proven wired control options such as DALI, phase dimming and Push Dim. Minirail 48V is also based on the principle of 'a single track for all types of control'. The advantage: all dimming modes are controlled via radio. Your investment in Minirail 48V is therefore future-proof.

Extremely stable and durable

ERCO track is manufactured from high quality aluminium in the ERCO light factory in Germany. You can install lengths up to 4m in a single piece. The spotlight adapters are similarly robust: designed for continuous use, the adapters are not damaged by regular insertion and removal.

High quality powder coating

Suspended track in particular is distinctly noticeable in architecture. That is why we pay great attention to excellently finished surfaces. ERCO track is powder-coated to a high standard. In addition to classic black or white, ERCO track is also available with anodised surfaces and in 10,000 further colours.

Simply cut to size and install on site

ERCO track is easily cut to size on site using a mitre saw. There is no danger of damaging the conductor paths in the process. Easy to push out punched holes at distances of 0.4m enable simple and quick mounting of the ERCO track.

Spans of up to 4m

With widely spaced suspension points, Hi-trac represents a statically high load-bearing infrastructure – also perfect for indirectly illuminating ceilings and accommodating cables in the upper section of the profile.

Use your ERCO track infrastructure entirely according to your needs. Accessories such as display hooks allow you to suspend information boards from the track, socket outlets can be used to operate AV equipment and OEM adapters for pendant luminaires enable you to install decorative luminaires.

Lighting design tips for track in museums and galleries

  • Pay attention to the correct distance to the wall

    As a rule of thumb for a suitable distance to the wall in museums, you can assume around 1/3 of the room height. This is the ideal method for illuminating paintings on walls without casting strong shadows

  • Select a track that fits your lighting task

    The miniaturised Minirail 48V track is suitable for small exhibits or display cases. ERCO track with mains voltage is ideal for almost all lighting tasks.

  • Use accessories to make even more out of your track

    Use track for more than just the power supply of luminaires. You can suspend pictures, signage and objects using separately available hooks. Safety sockets as accessories enable you to supply power to video projectors, for example.

  • Rely on flexible downlights for track in offices

    Track downlights illuminate office workplaces in compliance with standards and can be positioned freely in the track. If your office layout changes, simply reposition the luminaires in the track

  • Coordinate office workstations and track with each other

    Position the track approximately centred on the longitudinal axis of the desks. This gives you a good start for positioning downlights flexibly in the track above the office workstations.

  • Create a high spatial impression

    Suspended Hi-trac track allows you to additionally illuminate the ceiling and thus brighten up the room with indirect lighting. This creates a high impression of the room.

How long is the delivery time?

Many ERCO standard products are ready for shipping within 48 hours. Depending on the scope of the project, the quantity and the geographical location of the recipient, the delivery times with shipping are usually only up to two weeks.
