Lüdenscheid, March 2017. Light is able to completely change the impression of a room's dimensions. It sounds like magic but is in fact based on the laws of perception psychology - a room with uniformly illuminated walls appears wider, with a higher appearance if the ceiling is illuminated. With the new Pantrac wallwashers, ERCO offers ideal lighting tools for applications in museums, picture galleries, heritage buildings and other cultural institutions. With an archetypal cubic design, the luminaires blend unobtrusively into their surroundings to become a purist element of the architecture.
Wallwashing belongs to the essential repertoire of lighting designers particularly with museum lighting - providing exclusive, uniform, glare- and reflection-free lighting for art galleries and also a subtle background for the expressive displays of objects on walls or in the space using additional spotlights. The key to homogeneous and efficient wallwashing is specific luminaires with asymmetrical light distribution such as Pantrac wallwashers from ERCO. Using innovative LED lighting technology, Pantrac sets new standards in terms of uniformity along with increased luminaire spacing. This means less luminaires for greater efficiency, as well as economical, resource-protecting lighting concepts.
It pays to look upwards
Historical buildings and modern constructions have one thing in common - it is often advantageous to use light to emphasize and display unusually designed ceilings. Various wattages and lumen packages are available for the purpose, and Pantrac avoids competition with the architecture thanks to its purist, cubic form.
Reliably creating ideal wallwashing
Pantrac wallwashers are installed to the 2-circuit track with an ERCO turning adapter. The innate advantage of the specialized wallwasher: Ideal light impact is achieved without additional tilting, and the cubic shape blends discreetly into the space. With up to one and a half times the wall distance, luminaire spacing can also be unusually wide without any compromises in terms of uniformity. Several practical wattages are available with luminous flux from 1260lm to 3300lm, and luminaire brightness can be dimmed down to 1% with phase dimming or via the integrated potentiometer on the wallwasher for the protective illumination of artworks in museums.
Premium quality, premium technology
Pantrac achieves its superior quality of wallwashing light with the use of patented Spherolit lens technology combined with custom-designed LED modules manufactured by ERCO, equipped optionally with warm white (3000K) or neutral white (4000K) LEDs. The qualitative cast aluminum housing and highly practical mounting solutions also meet the high expectations that designers and users place in lighting tools from ERCO.
ERCO lens system: Spherolit lens, collimating lens made of optical polymer
ERCO LED module: High-efficiency LEDs on metal core PCBs, light colors: warm white (3000K) or neutral white (4000K)
Housing and bracket: Powder-coated cast aluminum, white
Control gear: Phase dimmable and with integrated potentiometer
The ERCO Light Factory in the German town of Lüdenscheid is a leading international specialist in architectural lighting using LED technology. The family business, founded in 1934, now operates as a global player with independent sales organisations and partners in 55 countries worldwide. Since 2015 ERCO's portfolio has been 100% LED. With this in mind, ERCO in Lüdenscheid develops, designs and produces digital luminaires with focus on photometrics, electronics and design. Working closely with architects, lighting designers and engineers, ERCO develops lighting tools used primarily for applications in the following fields: Work, Shop, Culture, Community, Hospitality, Living, Public and Contemplation. ERCO understands digital light as the fourth dimension of architecture - providing highly precise and efficient lighting solutions to support creative designers in turning their visions into reality.
