Max Wertheimer (1880–1943) was the main founder of Gestalt psychology and Gestalt theory.
At what became known as the Berlin School of Gestalt psychology, he formulated Gestalt principles that take human perception into account.

- 1Arrange luminaires close together when they are meant to be perceived as one cohesive group — this automatically looks more harmonious.
- 2Plan your luminaire grid carefully in advance, because a regular grid of points or lines forms the basis for balanced lighting that is tailored to the space.
