Light color

The color of the light emitted by a light source. Light color can be specified using x,y coordinates as a chromaticity point within the → standard chromaticity system and, in the case of white light colors, also as a color temperature. For white light colors, there is also a rough classification into the light colors warm white (ww, <3300K), neutral white (nw), and daylight white (tw, >5000K). Identical light colors can have different spectral distributions and, accordingly, different → color rendering. Light color is usually described by the correlated color temperature and specified in Kelvin.
