Rule of thumb for arranging oval wide flood light distributions
To achieve high uniformity and good facial lucency when illuminating office workplaces, the luminaire spacing of downlights with oval wide flood light distribution (d) can be up to 1.5 times the height (h) of the luminaire above the working plane. Arrangement: d ≤ 1.5 x h Tip for luminaire selection: With axially symmetrical light distributions such as oval white flood the correct alignment of the luminaire should be noted in the design.
Avoiding reflected glare
To avoid reflected glare and improve modelling, the luminaire should not be directly above the office workstation. This minimises reflected glare on keyboards or glossy documents.
