The Aula Maggiore Roberto Franceschi is the major lecture hall at Bocconi University. When working on the lighting design and upgrade for the main auditorium, there were several conditions: The optimal lighting should be provided for lectures and presentations. And the light should create a comfortable and conducive environment for learning. Integrating a modern lighting technology in a historical setting was a main challenge but could be solved with thoughtful concepts and matching lighting tools.
ERCO's flexible LED lighting systems were the ideal solution: The downlights provide uniform illumination without glare. Adaptive lighting controls makes it easy to set the best atmosphere for different events and uses. In the result, the students benefit from improved lighting quality and high visual comfort. Besides that, the new lighting enhanced the visual aesthetics of the lecture hall, increased energy efficiency and reduced operational costs.
