Take a look at Uruguay's first contemporary art museum, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Atchugarry. On a 45 hectare site, there are seven exhibition halls, a cinema, a theater, a didactic room, a library, an open-air amphitheater, more than 75 sculptures and a chapel with the work La Pietà by Pablo Atchugarry. The museum permanently houses the Atchugarry collection, which includes more than 50 works by Latin American and European artists such as Julio Le Parc, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Joaquín Torres García, Ernesto Neto and Carmelo Arden Quin, among others. ERCO indoor and outdoor lighting tools complete the museum complex and offer visitors a cultural experience with maximum visual comfort.
The museum is a gift from Pablo Atchugarry to the citizens of Uruguay. ERCO faced the main challenge of making light accompany a complex structure. It should be perceived as a whole that stands out at night even though we can also identify the different parts of the building.

Inside, indirect lighting highlights the sculptural character of the wooden roof structure. Visitors enter a large multifunctional hall for different uses and exhibitions. The high track with the combination of optec spotlights accentuate the structure and mark the visitors route through the hall. Different optics adapt the light to the various applications.

For the exhibition rooms we used a flexible lighting system with spotlights for track that allows the exchange of optics to adapt the light according to the requirements. It allows to achieve a perfect modelling of the sculptures and a comfortable appreciation of the pictorial works.

For example in the library, wallwashing to highlight the vertical envelope is combined with accent lighting to feature architectural highlights. Besides that, the reading tables are illuminated bright and even for a pleasure reading.

Outside, Tesis in-ground luminaires emphasize the volume of the roof eaves and enhance the curves.

Beamer projectors highlight the vertebrae of the building. They illuminate the façade cladding and emphasizes form and volume. The sculptures in the park are accentuated with Kona projectors.
