Human Centric Lighting

A lighting concept that places people, with their visual, biological, and emotional needs, at its centre. The key influencing factors are temporal changes in the lighting, the light spectrum, the illuminance level, and the spatial light distribution. The aim is both to optimise visual performance, subjective experience, and → visual comfort and to take account of the non-visual effects of light. These include short- and long-term as well as circadian responses that influence biological rhythms, alertness, and well-being.
