Light colour

The colour of the light emitted by a light source. Light colour can be specified by means of x,y coordinates as a chromaticity coordinate in the → standard colorimetric system, and for white light colours also as a colour temperature. White light colours are additionally given a rough classification into the light colours warm white (ww, <3300K), neutral white (nw), and daylight white (tw, >5000K). Identical light colours can have different spectral distributions and, accordingly, different → colour rendering. Light colour is usually described by the correlated colour temperature and specified in Kelvin.
