Compar gives architects, lighting designers and engineers broad scope for creative precision: With this range of innovative recessed luminaires, ERCO has extended the spectrum of round and square recessed lighting tools with a striking linear design. The slim luminaires – available from a width of 52mm – offer a subtle decorative detail in the ceiling whilst providing extremely efficient lighting tools with high standards of visual comfort. Variable light distribution options for differentiated general and office lighting make Compar an ideal solution for any high-quality architectural environment. The new oval wide flood light distribution developed by ERCO meets the requirements of glare control for office projects (UGR<19). Compar is an aesthetic alternative to conventional linear luminaires and fluorescent lamps, making it superb for individual, ceiling-integrated lighting concepts in administration buildings, restaurants, cultural facilities and offices.
Compar is available in the three lengths 120mm, 210mm and 390mm, with a width from 52mm. The linear collimating lens minimises the visibility of the luminaire in the ceiling. In contrast to downlights with a square ceiling cut-out, the visible face is reduced by up to 20% in some cases, whilst delivering the same luminous flux.
Compar recessed luminaires are supplied with a covered mounting detail. Flush mounting details are available as accessories for easier logistics on the building site.
A louvre is designed to restrict the view into the luminaire, achieving efficient visual comfort with an emission angle of 90°. Available in black or silver, the louvre customises Compar to blend with the material and colour of the ceiling.
Compar downlights and wallwashers with a recess depth of 100mm are ideal for use in small ceiling voids, allowing great flexibility in the coordination of the ceiling plan.
With a UGR<19, the 60° wide flood lens of Compar answers the stringent standards of workplace lighting, whilst the rotationally symmetrical light distribution enables the designer to coordinate the luminaire layout entirely with the reflected ceiling plan without compromising on the light effect.
The rotationally symmetrical light distribution with an emission angle of 85° enables large luminaire spacing of up to 1.5 times the distance to the illuminated surface, with high cylindrical illuminances ensuring good facial recognition. This makes Compar ideal for highly efficient general lighting in any building.
Based on the style of linear lighting solutions, the axially symmetrical light distribution produced by an oval beam of about 90° by 55° is aimed transversely to the luminaire. A UGR<19 in the 55° axis makes it ideal for the illumination of office workplaces and large conference tables.
In true alignment with the luminaire, the oval flood lens with its axially symmetrical light distribution projects a beam of about 35° by 90°. This allows a row of luminaires to be spaced far apart for the efficient illumination of circulation zones or elongated objects such as tables.
Wallwashing enhances the impression of brightness in the room. The linearity of the lens wallwasher allows a ratio of 1:1.3 for wall offset to luminaire spacing and still achieves uniform vertical illuminance.
