Cylinder Surface-mounted and pendant luminaires
The simple form of Cylinder surface-mounted downlights means it can be integrated inconspicuously into architecture. Appropriate accessories transform Cylinder into a pendant luminaire. Perfect matching of the lamp, lens and control gear results in maximum efficiency. The high-quality lighting technology and the glare protection with darklight technology are based on the principles of efficient visual comfort. The Cylinder surface-mounted downlights follow a consistent principle, meaning that the different characteristics are easy to combine and to interchange.
Design
The simple cylindrical form of the surface-mounted downlights means it can be integrated inconspicuously in any architecture. For a stronger presence of the luminaires in the room, Cylinder is also available with varychrome ring. This adds a coloured accent to the main light as ambient lighting, emitted diffusely from a gap along the reflector edge and creating a decorative effect that subtly changes the colour in the room. The good colour rendition of the white LED light from the downlight is not affected by the varychrome ring.
Darklight technology
ERCO downlight reflectors are calculated using complex computer programs. This results in the reflectors having consistent cut-off angles for a variety of lamps and aperture sizes. Within the cut-off angle there will be no disturbing glare. This is the characteristic feature of the ERCO Darklight technology. The Darklight technology combines maximum visual comfort with maximum light output ratio and an exceptional balance between horizontal and vertical illuminance.
The standard cut-off angle of the ERCO downlight range is 40°; this is the angle between the horizontal ceiling surface and the diagonal from lamp to reflector edge. The standard range is complemented by downlights with 30° and 50° cut-off angles.
Suspensions
SuspensionsUsing the accessory options available, Cylinder surface-mounted luminaires can also be suspended as pendant luminaires. The cable can be installed on a ceiling canopy or on ERCO's track. For light intensity distributions that require correct alignment, e.g. for wallwashers, it is advisable to use the pendant tube to prevent the luminaire from turning.
