Setting precise accents
Use spotlights to clearly emphasise individual exhibits and guide visitors' eyes to specific points.
Choose narrow light beams to do so. A lens system achieves very high illuminance levels, particularly at small beam angles. Plan the light distribution to suit the object: "Narrow Spot" is ideal for the smallest details, "Spot" for focused accents, and "Flood" for larger areas.
Make use of the efficiency of the optics. This achieves strong contrasts, a brilliant effect, and precise art lighting.
Narrow spot

Lighting large exhibits across their surface
Use floodlights to illuminate large exhibits, groups of pictures, or wall areas evenly from a short distance. If you want to cover large surfaces in a calm, broad, and homogeneous way, choose "Wide Flood" or "Extra Wide Flood".
For elongated works, use Oval Flood. Match the oval light distribution precisely to the format at a ratio of 1:4. Rotate the lens to suit the hanging arrangement: in rectangular luminaire heads, rotation is carried out in 90-degree steps. In round luminaire heads, you have the advantage of continuous rotation.
This allows you to align light distribution, exhibit, space, and hanging arrangement precisely with one another – efficiently, flexibly, and with a calm surface effect.
Wide Flood
- "Wide Flood" is ideal for large surfaces that are to be covered in a calm, broad, and homogeneous way.

Extra Wide Flood
- "Extra Wide Flood" is likewise suited to large areas that are to be covered calmly, broadly, and homogeneously.
- (approx. 85°): @ 7.0 m at a distance of 4 m
Oval Flood
- "Oval Flood" is suited to elongated works. Match the oval light distribution precisely to the format at a ratio of 1:4.
- (approx. 65° x 15°): Ø 5.0 m x 1 m at a distance of 4 m
Illuminating walls evenly
Use wallwashers to light up vertical surfaces homogeneously and with striking spatial effect.
Illuminate walls with different picture formats evenly. This creates a calm backdrop for art and exhibitions. Compared with accentuating pictures individually, it saves you the alignment work. This is particularly appealing for frequently changing exhibitions.
Plan a major effect with just a few luminaires. The wallwashers achieve high horizontal and vertical uniformity even at greater distances.
Enhance the impression of brightness in the space. Evenly illuminated walls open up the space and improve orientation.
Why "Extra Wide Flood" is no substitute for wallwashing
Use Extra Wide Flood for broad surfaces, but not for uniform wallwashing.
The light distribution does not strike the wall homogeneously across its entire height. Instead, a bright hotspot often forms in the upper section of the wall, while the surface falls off visibly towards the bottom.
If you want the wall to be illuminated evenly, you should use genuine wallwashers. These distribute the light across the wall in a controlled manner, creating a calm, even backdrop for art and space.

Defining projection surfaces precisely
Use framing projectors with framing shutters to present pictures with precision.
Use the framing shutters to set the illuminated area precisely to the desired format. This keeps the edges sharply defined. Plan framing light for crisp edges and strong focus – ideal for pictures in a rectangular format.
Create an intense visual effect. Thanks to the hard, precise contrast with the dark surroundings, the work seems to glow from within.
