An urban jewel, read through light
Grassy Jewelers forms part of Madrid’s collective imagination. Located in a strategic position within the city, its presence goes beyond the commercial sphere to establish itself as an urban reference, with an identity closely linked to its history and its place within the city. Over time, the brand has built a legacy based on excellence, precision and trust—values that are reflected both in the spatial experience and in the customer experience.
Translating this identity into space—and making it legible from the exterior to the interior—requires a considered approach in which light plays a fundamental role. Lighting does not merely reveal the product; it structures perception, organizes the elements of the space and helps express the brand’s values.
Light as a resource for identity, urban presence and exhibition precision.
In the shop window, light acts as a mediating element between the building and the city. In a highly stimulated urban environment, such as the intersection of Gran Vía, lighting creates a recognizable and restrained presence, capable of standing out without excess. Parscan 48V spotlights provide precise accent lighting on the pieces. This allows the Grassy universe to be identified from a distance, giving the shop window depth, visual clarity and a distinctive character that invites a slower, more attentive reading.
Shop window lighting is conceived according to an exhibition logic: concentrated, controlled and directed light that reinforces the materiality of each jewel and supports its correct perception. The use of optics adjusted to the size and arrangement of the pieces makes it possible to work with contrast and carefully managed shadows, creating a lighting scene that highlights detail and quality without visual interference.
Inside, the architecture reveals two distinct atmospheres that reflect the evolution of the brand. On the ground floor, with its classic and timeless character, lighting accompanies the interior design without imposing itself. Display cases become the visual axis of the space, while light guides the gaze precisely towards the exhibited pieces. The use of Parscan 48V with interchangeable optics allows the light beam to be adjusted to each jewel, reinforcing its singularity and presence within the overall setting.
The carefully selected color temperature engages with the brand’s chromatic identity. The choice of 4000K intensifies Grassy’s characteristic green and reinforces the visual coherence of the space. The luminaires, customized in the corporate RAL color, are discreetly integrated into the architecture. The incorporation of minirail 48V tracks, arranged along horizontal axes, provides flexibility in the positioning of the projectors without altering the spatial reading.
The lighting concept remains consistent throughout the project: precise and restrained accent lighting, conceived to highlight the pieces within a visually complex environment, both in the shop window and in the interior. Continuity in the luminaire product family and in the lighting treatment contributes to a unified reading of the space.
On the upper floor, beneath the dome, the intervention adopts a contemporary language—lighter and more precise—that reflects the brand’s process of renewal. Here, light once again assumes a structuring role. The smaller-scale display cases require a particularly controlled lighting solution, in which the technical infrastructure is integrated into the architecture without interfering with its perception.
In this context, Axis recessed spotlights, integrated into the sides and upper cavity of the display cases, provide extremely precise lighting. Thanks to their reduced size, the luminaires are fully integrated into the display architecture, remaining virtually imperceptible, while adapting to miniaturized spaces with high color rendering and exact beam control. Lighting is adjusted to each piece with precision, working with reduced power levels and a carefully considered scenography that enhances the perception of the object.
