Shop window scenography using light, shadow and modelling.

Decoration and scenographic effects in shop windows present selected products, place them in a context and create eye-catchers. Lighting contrasts lift individual objects out of their setting. The directed light ensures good modelling based on light and shadow and creates brilliance on the shiny surfaces. Spotlights with narrow emission angles provide the basis for dramatic effects. Additional floodlights and wallwashers ensure general background lighting.

Overall lighting concept

The differentiated lighting of foreground, centre and background make for an attractive eye-catcher in the front of the shop window while directing attention into the store. Spotlights in the foreground dominate with a play of light and shadow creating rich contrasts. Floodlights and wallwashers produce a calm background for the sales room.

Accent lighting on mannequins

The spotlight with the spot characteristic produces a narrow beam which illuminates only the mannequins. The directed light brings out the shapes, materials and textures of the clothing worn by the mannequins using brightness contrasts and brilliant effects.

Vertical illuminance in the shop window

The flood spotlights directed onto the rear wall of the shop window add to the impression of depth in the shop window. The steep incident light produces a striking shadow pattern.

Illuminating the wall in the sales room creates a visual link between the shop window in the foreground and the sales area in the background. Uniform wallwashing defines the architectural shape of the sales room.
